Reporting Anhydrous Ammonia releases

The fall anhydrous application season upon us we need to cover responsibilities for all involved on the handling of anhydrous ammonia. Region 5 USEPA has handed out some hefty fines for failing to report ammonia releases. The reporting threshold is just 100 lbs (18 gallon). In most cases involving fines the incident was reported, but not "immediately".


If you have any reason to believe a reportable release of ammonia has occurred while in your possession during transportation or application you must call the numbers are as follows.
